Tondabayashi City and Bethlehem City mark the 40th anniversary of the sister city relationship.
The commemorative ceremony was held on May 23, 2004 with citizens from Bethlehem City who visited Tondabayashi City.
Dogwoods, which represent our friendship, were planted and the city road extending from Osaka Prefectural Plaza to Outer Loop Road was named as Bethlehem Street.
Eleven people of Bethlehem City who visited for the 40th anniversary went to see the city sights of Tondabayashi.
They also visited Otani Women's University and had a lively pleasant conversation.
Madeline and Bob who came to Osaka to participate in the conference of Rotary Club International visited Tondabayashi. Although they visited some sights in Tondabayashi only one day, they liked them.
Mayor Tada and Chairperson of municipal assembly Takemoto participated in the commemorative ceremony held in Bethlehem and signed the joint statement pledging a long-lasting friendship.
Five students of Tondabayashi enjoyed a 3-week homestay in Bethlehem City this year.
English oratorical contest was held.The number of participants was 43 from junior high school students, high school students and university students who live in the city.
